Originated in Germany, Miniature Pincher breed is around 300 years old. Allthough MinPin looks a lot like a tiny Doberman, the breed was probably derived from crossing German Pincher with Dachshund & Italian Grey Hound.

At present time this exotic looking little canine is kept solely as a pet, however years ago the breed was develop as a hunter and a ratter.

CHARACTERISTICS

High-spirited & playful, affectionate & self-confident MinPin makes an ideal pet for most owners. Known to form a very close bond with its family, Pincher is mistrustful of strangers and will defend its owner fearlessly despite it’s size. This breed makes and outstanding watchdog & companion.

Many owners describe them as smart dogs with lot of energy, the most energetic of toy breeds. Though not very demanding, Miniature Pinchers still require their share of attention. They do not like to change places & owner and do not adapt well to new environments. Due to its original purpose of hunting rats, MinPin has a high prey drive and may chase small animals.
